Initial thoughts My roomate had a few vaccinations when he left for india, so i figured i would need some as well. I called my doctor, but they are clue-free at that office with a team of doctors always busy and tons of admins answering phones and not knowing who i am or what shots i should be given. After some talk, she recommended i contact a couple other places in SF because they will be cheaper, since my insurance will most likely not cover this. So i did. Where i got my vaccinations I ended going to Overseas Medical Clinic in San Francisco (415-982-8380 49 Drumm St.) one of 2 that was recommended. I called on a wed around 5pm, an actual doctor answered the phone, was clear, concise, told me exactly what was needed for india, prices, and she said walk-ins are accepted 1-4p every day. They also gave me a little yellow booklet to keep with my passport that has a record of my vaccinations, required for some countries. This place rocks. Vaccinations received - What is needed for India (July 2004) $40 Tetanus (Diptheria Tetanus III, valid for 10 years) $40 Polio (needed every 10 years) $50 Hepatitus A (2 types of vaccinations, I took gama globulin for instant effect) $80 Typhoid (i took tablets, 4 every other day, valid for 5 years) $??
